TermDescription
BoardA digital workspace for visual collaboration where team members can add, organize, and share ideas through content like sticky notes, images, data, and visualizations. A board allows the creation of current and future state scenarios.
Current StateAny elements and relationships that exist within the ServiceNow repository.
Future StateAny elements and relationships that do not exist yet within the ServiceNow repository and need to be “committed”.
Data HubCentral access point for all ServiceNow data that YouDesign considers as “current state” and can be added to the board. Only tables defined as part of a shape definition are visible within the Data Hub.
DependencyRefers to relationships between objects i.e. shapes.
DiagramA visual representation of data with shapes, relationships, and grouping corresponding to the elements of a Model being part of a Board. Typically, a diagram is part of a frame within a board.
ElementAn instance of ServiceNow Data e.g. Server ABC loaded from the Data Hub, which YouDesign considers as a “current state element”. Used often as a synonym for “Item".
FolderFolders are grouping elements within a teamspace to structure boards logically.
ItemAn instance of ServiceNow Data e.g. Server ABC loaded from the Data Hub, which YouDesign considers as a “current state item”. Used often as a synonym for “Element”.
ModelThe data structure that holds and manages the information the Diagram represents.
RelationshipTypically represented as a link between two shapes in a diagram, indicating how they are connected or related. YouDesign distinguishes the following types of relationships:
► Visual
▶︎ Relationship (many-to-many, defined through ServiceNow suggested relationships)
▶︎ Reference (one-to-many)
▶︎ Hierarchy
▶︎ Related List
ShapeA graphical element used within a diagram to represent an object or a node.
TeamspaceA shared workspace for teams within YouDesign where multiple boards can be created and grouped in folders. Teamspaces can be restricted in terms of tables, shapes, and data available for the users shared.
RTI / RealTime IndicatorsRealtime Indicators (RTI) are visual elements strategically integrated with shapes, serving to symbolize various states or conditions, thereby enabling users to quickly identify and understand different aspects or statuses represented in the diagram.
