How to Use the Grouping Feature

Grouping Elements

  1. Selection of Elements:
  • Select multiple elements by clicking and dragging a selection box or by holding down a Shift key while clicking on elements.
  1. Grouping Action:
  • To group selected elements, YouDesign provides a visible and easily accessible "Group" option in the context menu.
  • When users click the "Group" option, the selected elements form a logical association, treated as a single group.

Ungrouping Elements

  1. Selection of Group:
  • Click on a grouped element to select the entire group.
  1. Ungrouping Action:
  • To ungroup element, YouDesign offers a visible and easily accessible "Ungroup" option in the context menu.
  • Clicking the "Ungroup" option logically separates the grouped elements, restoring their individual status.

Grouping Indicator:

  • YouDesign displays a visual indicator, such as a bounding box or a highlight, around grouped elements to signify their association.
  • When a group is selected, an indicator is provided to show the option to ungroup.

Grouping State is Saved:

  • The grouping state of elements is saved in YouDesign. If a user saves the diagram and reopens it later, the grouping remains intact.
